Freedom Day!

March 20, 2010

Today I went to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for Free. This happens every Saturday from ten – noon. However, I would argue today was the big winner Saturday of the season. We’re at the most exciting point of spring. It’s the cusp. The “almost”. The moment before the climax. The trees are barely bare, but they are SO CLOSE to blossoming the suspense is unbearable. Such tension.

Other free stuff about today I ought to mention:

Free jacket & bracelet from a yard sale that was ending

Free samples of jam at the farmers market

Free spanish lessons from the girls on the subway

Free almond macarons tonight at selected bakeries in New York — it’s Macaron Day NYC. I love the internet.

I’m off to study my free flash cards. Yep, another exam is coming up on Tuesday. Please visualize me picking the right answers. Thanks in advance.

Ah, love the Gardens. Got some great photos there last summer. On free admission day of course. I’m also fond of the “suggested donation” museums around town. Sure, NYC is expensive but there are ways around that.

you almost said “free spanish lesions from the girl on the subway.”

nyc is even sexier than i thought.

and let’s not forget the first day of spring at rita’s water ice. i got berry of some type, blue that dripped on my pants which may cost more to clean than i would have avoided spending if they had not offered the water ice for free
