My day

June 22, 2010

It all started with an acupuncture appointment at 8:45…

8:30 – call appointment to let them know I would be 15-20 minutes late.

8:45 -get to acupuncture on time; use my 15-20 minutes to browse the greeting cards section in Duane Reade. Equally therapeutic. Best Card: [outside]Birthdays are like Boogers. [inside] the more you have the harder it is to breath

10 – freshly punctured, get a chocolate donut.

10:30 – 11  facebook/internet

11-1:30 – redo practice question set until I get a 100%. I know everything. (For what I don’t understand, call friend who actually knows everything to teach me).

1:30 – 2 – shower

2- 2:30 – pace around the apartment in towel

2:30 – 3 – what to do what to do what to do

3:00 – decide to study

3:15 – meet friend at a bar to watch the last half of Argentina vs. Greece (Blue vs. White)

3:30 – 4:30 – teach friend about antibiotics at the bar

4:30 – 5:30 – walk/ review cells

5:30 – 6- Bikini wax. Woman assigned to me is dating a fourth year medical student. She knows everything about the boards. We talk shop.

6 – Pal from a decade ago – who I reconnected with via facebook 3 days ago – happens to be getting the salon’s number for his ex-girlfriend as I’m leaving. And happens to live above the salon. and happens to have extra food…

6 – 7 – dinner on roof; hung out with a normal human, resurrected friendship/sanity/sense of normalcy. Thanks Mike. (I hope you don’t have Lyme disease).

7-8 – walk/ review inflammation

8-8:30 – get food for tomorrow. Trader Joe’s has expensive carrots.

8:30 – 9 – make a sandwich.

Thank you to a lot of people for wishing me good luck: Jess, Nick, Steve, Alice, Rach, Alaina, John Montrose, Becca, Anna, Lori, CBAlex, My aunts (see last post), and the lovely staff at dhaga salon.
