Oy

April 7, 2011

My social life has come to this: yesterday a friend met me at the hospital at the end of the day. Hanging out consisted of a walk towards home, and then I fell asleep on a couch for about 45 minutes. But during the day (which started at 6 am) I got to scrub into an open hysterectomy. Is this a sample of my destiny?

I wish wish wish I had more more more time to write write write. There’s so much good material: pregnancies, cancer, elective abortions, miscarriages, births, incontinence, menopause, lots of blood, and every imaginable ethnicity/language/religion/. The variety is too exhausting. I can barely handle 12 hours of it, let alone find the energy at the end of the day to jot it down.

Shout out to my pal Evan: thanks for the walk and the couch.

Friends, I miss you dearly. Please keep me in your prayers tomorrow. 24 call.
